The project involved the expansion, reconstruction and modernisation of WWTP Provadia, which was outdated and physically obsolete. In view of the higher requirements of the recipient and the higher water volumes, a new technological design was selected, which solves the environmental problems related to the pollution of the Black Sea. The plant is an element of a programme for design of urban waste water treatment plants for towns with a population equivalent of over 10,000 under Operational Programme Environment and was designed for a population equivalent of 16,770 and Qav/day =2,993 m3/day.
The site was commissioned in 2013.
BORA elaborated the entire working design for all parts, carried out designer supervision during the construction works, trained the staff of the plant, prepared operating instructions and supported the testing and commissioning of the new WWTP.
